County Galway is known for its rolling hills and fields divided by a latticework of stone walls and quiet country roads. Large tracks of woodland offer opportunities to jump a wide variety of natural obstacles, hedges, ditches and walls (which are optional). This is ideal hunting country, open, level going divided by the stone walls for which the hunt is so famous. It is a land rich in folklore, legend and archaeological treasures.

The center offers a large selection of horses, that will suit any ability and size of rider, and prides themselves on being able to match your ability to one of their horses to ensure that your hunting holiday is the experience of a lifetime.


County Limerick: Improve Riding Skills, Cross Country Riding & Fox Hunting

The charming village of Adare will bid you welcome during your stay in Limerick. The 120 acre riding center has indoor and outdoor arenas, showjumping and cross country course and Polocross! The Limerick Hunt crosses rolling hills and gentle rivers divided by ancient stone walls, wooden fence and ditches. Visits to historic ruins and castles await to fill your non-riding days. Adare is the ideal base to explore many wonderful sights and famous landmarks. You could take a daytrip to include Bunratty Castle, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher a picnic lunch can even be provided. Head south towards Blarney Castle and Cork city and harbour. Spend the day in Killarney and the wonderful Muckross Park and still be back in time for supper.

Pricing is determined by days riding, choice of accommodation and off days. Hunting capping fees are not included and are paid to hunt directly. Capping fees range from 150-200 Euros per day.

Itinerary is customized to guest's specifications. In addition to cross country riding, quiet jaunts in the countryside, in the fall and winter guests may wish to join one of the local hunting packs, and in the summer months riding is occasionally available during the summer months in the beautiful Connemara Countryside.

ITINERARY - County Galway

This is a tour customized to your specifications.

Fill your days with guided cross country jumping, relaxing jaunts in the countryside, and sightseeing.

From October - February you may wish to join the Galway Blazers for day (or more) of hunting. The Blazers hunt Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Riders should be secure at all paces and over fences. However, unlike many other hunting holidays, riders have a chance to get to know their hunters and the country beforehand.

Enjoy your days off with sightseeing and taking in a local fair or festival such as the Ballinasloe Horse Fair (the oldest horse fair in the world), horse races/ show or sale, or one of the fall Oyster Festivals. In the evenings relax in front of a peat fire or raise a glass with the locals in the pubs.

The County Limerick Foxhounds hunt Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays. You can choose to hunt one, two or three days with your off days filled with sightseeing, guided cross country jumping or a hack in the countryside.

What to Bring

In Ireland we are accustomed to the wet weather and rarely allow it to interfere with our activities.

A good waterproof jacket, pants and boots are recommended.

All horse riding footwear must have a heel.
